Connecting ‘The Fabricator’ to other Voortman beam and plate processing machinery enables fully automated structural steel fabrication.
The Fabricator includes an automatic crane to place the beam into the rotators, three Panasonic welding robots and one Panasonic handling robot delivered by Valk Welding.
When the beam has been correctly placed into the rotators, de welding robot measures the exact location of the beam by touch sense technology. Then the handling robot picks up a metal plate that needs to be mounted on the beam after which one of the welding robots starts with the tag welding. When the second plate is placed and tag welded on to the beam the other welding robots start finishing the welding process of the first plate.
