Last year, Valk Welding introduced a new and advanced software for Automatic Robot Programming (ARP). This makes programming industrial welding robots just as easy as programming the currently popular cobots. "We were immediately interested", says Broshuis, an international manufacturer of trailers. As one of the very first active users, they share their experience.
Frisomat, a well-known player in the field of modular steel construction systems, started back in 1991 with a Valk Welding robotic installation. In 2017, the most recent robot installation was purchased including offline programming.
Ireland’s first user of ARP powered by 'ArcNC for Panasonic', Portafill, is currently creating fully operational welding robot programs made by employees with no previous robot experience. “ArcNC is just very easy to use. There is nothing complicated about it”, says Grzegorz, design engineer at Portafill.
It took several years for HiSpec Engineering Ltd, an Irish manufacturer of agricultural machinery, to commit to welding automation. And while robot supplier Valk Welding successfully guided them through the process, offline programming was more time-consuming than they had anticipated.
